WAS EPIC! But my opinion is kind of bias because John Cusack is my favorite actor... I just watched it last Saturday (11/15/09). Oh ASSASSIN'S CREED 2!!!! So here we go with my opinion of the movie:

*Note I'm extremely tired but i can't go to sleep, so some of this might not make any sense...*

:SYNOPSIS:

Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. A global cataclysm brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

: Plot :
Pros: Who doesn't want to watch someone's opinion of what the end of the world is? We are all curious, some of us would say we are gonna live the next day after December 21, 2012... some... not so much... The plot... it does have a plot, the problem was clearly presented in the beginning when in bold it said. 2012. It's interesting how they create a story for each main character and connect them all at then end.

Cons: The plot was dragging a lot, at some parts I am almost bored to death with people talking non stop. 2h and 30 some minutes or so. There were some parts which i thought could be cut out to make it more fast paced and exciting. Though there is a plot, another problem was how they ended it. It was certainly surprising how so many people were still alive after "the end of the world". Sure lots of people died, but not the amount you expected. All the main characters lived....

: Special FX & Shooting :
Pros: The CG was good (again in my opinion), they've got the explosions, the glass falling down buildings, the intro of the planets, etc. Nice and clean. The camera does show the emotions of the people during the time, fear and sadness, sometimes insanity.

Cons: There were good effects in some parts, however some parts makes you think... no, it doesn't connect you with the movie. Such as California being submerged underwater. That was a big FAIL. It was way too fake, so me, as a viewer, when i see it, I say "wow that's ridiculous", instead of "whoa, that looks like it could happen." Then you start to think all the wrongs about this movie instead of enjoying it. The camera, wow, at some parts it just kept on shaking. I know it does add to the effect that it looks like you are actually there with them and you are seeing it in somewhat in their perspective (like if a bolder crashed nearby, the ground would shake). However the camera was wobbling way too much and i couldn't see what was going on in some parts.

: Logic :
Pros: Yes, when the world ends, everyone panics. They got that down. CHECK! Yeah...

Cons: Gosh, where do i begin. Again, if it's the end of the world... then almost everyone, OR everyone would die, there were so many people still living at the end. Second, the 2 families in the plane (The Curtis' and the Russian family), i don't think they could fly over a city that had just been engulfed my lava, also, i don't even think they could get a plane in the first place! Curtis when they landed the plane... i don't think that miraculously there would be a vehicle driving pass them.. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MOUNTAIN. Coincidence? No.

********So Was it Worth the Money?********
Though there were a lot more cons than pros, it was in fact a pretty decent movie I have to say. I found the movie was quite humorous (no not when the people were dying) when it was suppose to be. The movie did provide a lot of action for you. Even though it disappoints some of us that not everyone is dead...
